Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Prime Reserve Terminal, we approach sustainability from multiple perspectives.
For us, sustainability means driving innovation and transforming our business to support and accelerate the global energy transition. It involves investing in advanced solutions at our terminals and facilities to minimize our environmental footprint.
Sustainability also means building a company that stands the test of time—focusing on healthy growth, robust governance, and ensuring safe, equitable working conditions throughout our operations. At Prime Reserve Terminal, sustainability isn’t just a goal; it’s integral to how we operate today and plan for tomorrow.
Sustainable Energy Sources
Access to reliable and affordable energy is essential for both people and economies to thrive. Safely and securely delivering energy has been the foundation of our operations since the very beginning. Through our storage terminals and energy infrastructure, Prime Reserve Terminal plays a key role in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7—“Access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.”
As part of our Strategy 2028, we made a firm commitment to support the global energy transition. Our ambitious goal is to generate 50% of our earnings from sustainable and transitional energy sources by 2028.
We focus on infrastructure with the greatest potential to deliver value for our customers and the environment. This includes working with more sustainable fuels such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), biodiesel, and transitional fuels like liquefied natural gas (LNG). Additionally, we are actively exploring hydrogen and expanding into renewable energy generation, including renewable natural gas (RNG). At Prime Reserve Terminal, we are dedicated to shaping a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
Sustainability at Our Terminals
We are dedicated to continually finding ways to reduce the environmental impact of our operations. Our commitment to sustainability drives us to implement initiatives that improve efficiency, protect natural resources, and enhance the safety of our facilities.
Steps We’ve Taken So Far:
- Enhancing energy efficiency at our terminals and transitioning to renewable energy sources for our operations.
- Investing in vapour recovery technology to reduce vapour emissions and minimize losses.
- Implementing measures to prevent spills and ensure containment, safeguarding the environment.
- Reducing water consumption and maintaining full control over wastewater treatment and disposal.
- Utilizing the Process Safety Score Card (PSSC) method to ensure the highest standards of process safety.
- Promoting onsite biodiversity by taking steps like planting mangroves at our facilities in Malaysia.
- Minimizing waste generation, particularly from tank cleaning activities.
